Nothing was found. (i.e. You are still alive.)

Bureaucracy

  • Bureaucracy x1: The New York City Board of Health voted to adopt the nation's first major municipal ban on the use of all but tiny amounts of artificial trans fats in restaurant cooking.

Meanwhile, the New York City Board of Health also unexpectedly withdrew a proposal on Tuesday that would have allowed people to alter the sex on their birth certificates without sex-change surgery.

  • Bureaucracy x2: A new program is being put in place in conjunction with several hospitals to contact repeat blood donors after they have given blood or plasma, in the hopes of garnering further future donations.

This measure is in response to the recent Thanksgiving blood shortage.

Increased pressure is being put on the City of New York to install even more red light cameras. (which record cars speeding at intersections). This is odd, given that fifty red-light camera's were recently installed in September, but people are seriously taking it into consideration.

  • Bureaucracy x4: The pressure on the City to install more red-light cameras is coming directly from the NYPD, who are touting what they claim to be the wild success of the program at increasing traffic safety.

  • Church x5: There are rumors that a man known as Ruy de Castro is behind the abortion clinic thefts, and that he has done so peaceably in the hopes that the souls of the unborn might be properly laid to rest. Nothing more.

  • Church x6: Ruy de Castro is seeking something else from the burial of the unborn. His people have mentioned that he is concerned with the metaphysical destiny of those souls now barred from both heaven and hell.

  • Church x7: The Society, who is -in fact- still very much in town, in spite of the hype, has been working through de Castro (in reality: Father Rafeal Marcos, an accomplished Christian occultist) and the unborn children to further God's ends.

Finance

  • Finance x1: Stocks declined for a second straight session Thursday as Wall Street grew nervous ahead of the government's November jobs creation report and its implications for the health of the overall economy.

The skittishness came despite upbeat news from the Labor Department, which said, as expected, that the number of newly laid off workers seeking unemployment benefits fell last week by the largest amount in six months.

  • Finance x2: Tishman-Speyer Properties has agreed to sell the a 41 floor skyscraper at 666 Fifth Avenue for $1.8 billion to an unnamed party.

Health

  • Health x1: Investigations continue being made into where over one hundred pints of blood have disappeared to from several hospitals throughout New York over the past several months. However, the inquires seem to be hitting a dead end after a few initial firings, and much of the crisis is being alleviated, due to increased media attention being paid to the blood shortage and new bureaucratic programs being installed to contact previous donors regularly.

Blood donors are flocking to help local hospitals in light of the upcoming holiday season, and the deficit is slowly being made up. Blood being transferred anywhere is still kept under close scrutiny.

Meanwhile, chewable birth-control has been released by Warner Chilcott, a drug company which makes prescription dermatology and women's health products.

Meanwhile, a city wide search is on for two young children reported missing over two weeks ago from their home in Staten. Rumors indicate that infamous occultist Abel Sarkin, leader of the Brotherhood of the Black Rose, may be behind the incident.

  • Occult x4: Reports regarding the Lucusta incident indicate that he was followed by two accomplices, both described as being somehow made out of "shadows."

The Brotherhood of the Black Rose is indeed linked to the case of the missing children, although the society as a whole feels the blame can be particularly pinned on Sarkin, and not the rest of the collective.

  • Occult x5: Abel Sarkin is reported to have killed the two boys in question, although he did not do it in conjunction with any ritual process.

  • Occult x6: Sarkin was, in fact, preparing himself to engage in child sacrifice at the end of the Winter Solitice, and wished to see if he was truly able to take innocent human life. Killing the boys was a personal test.

Many members of the Brotherhood have left as a result, and those who stay are becoming HIGHLY wary of Sarkin's leadership. The group is on its last legs.

Street

  • Street x1: One of Throat Cutter Hernandez's boys lost his shipment of "goods" while coming back from the border. He was facing a slight "demonstration" at the hands of Hernandez's men, when the now infamous figure known only as Lucasta appeared on the scene and disrupted things in typical fashion, shooting white light from his hands and making grandiose speeches regarding right and wrong.

A man, named Phil White, was killed this time in the assault, which ranks up as the first fatality related to the Lucasta incidents.

Meanwhile, the enigmatic leader of the Orphans, held a large rally in an abandoned Staten Island warehouse two weeks ago, preaching the unification of several gangs to drive the Furies out of the Bronx and Brooklyn. He has since disappeared, and although word of the rally is quickly spreading, few people have begun to act.

    Can you dig it?

  • Street x2: Significant numbers of homeless people have been assaulted or disappeared. As a result, very few hobos, tramps and bums wander the streets alone, preferring to band together for protection on whomever is preying on the weak and destitute. The police certainly aren't helping.
