Basic guides to what makes up the core values of most UnMasqued approved Paths of Enlgihtenment. Originally written by Danya. Inspiration was drawn from the Vampire: The Masquerade Corebook, Dark Ages Road Book: Humanity, The Guide to the Sabbat, the Dark Ages: Vampire Corebook, and the Dark Ages Storyteller's Companion. Path descriptions were takne from Laws of the Night [Revised] and the Laws of the Night: Sabbat Guide.

Currently the only posted Paths, aside from Humanity, are those accessible to Assamite, Giovanni and Setite PCs. While all Paths outside of Humanity require ST approval, Paths not listed here (particularly those common with the Sabbat) are restricted to the point that they will need to be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Humanity

Not actually considered a Path of Enlightenment, Humanity is what the vast majority of vampires default to - the basic morals inherant to the human condition with which they were familiar.

Virtues: Conscience and Self-Control

TENANTS

  1. Respect the natural rights of others to life, liberty, and property.
  2. Inflict no harm needlessly. Mindless violence is the way of the Beast.
  3. Treat mortals equitably and with dignity. One who wishes to retain his humanity must deal with humans on equal terms.
  4. Reason is what separates men from animals. Exercise your reason and think seriously about your moral judgments.
  5. Show compassion and mercy to others.
  6. Do not overindulge yourself at the expense of others. Take what is needful to you and allow others the same privilege.
  7. Reign in your Beast. Do not give in to its violent ways.
  8. Do not abide wickedness or monstrousness when you may have the power to prevent it.

Path of Blood

Studied by the Assamites, this Path espouses a connection to Haqim, founder of the Clan, through the power of blood. Vampires on this Path hunt down other Cainites, drinking their blood in order to improve their own potency. Those few who evidence a distaste for their condition or hatred for the "Get of Khayyin" (descendants of Caine) may be offered the opportunity to convert, to serve the will of Haqim in his battle against Khayyin's evil childer. By diablerizing their enemies and holding aloof from other Cainites, the students of the Path of Blood seek to overcome the blot of Khayyin's curse and redeem themselves in a transcendence awash in stolen vitae.

Path of Bones

As walking corpses, vampires truly exist on the cusp of mortality. Death comes to all things sooner or later, so the Gravediggers study the process of physical death, the decay of the body and the extinguishing of the spirit. Practiced largely by Giovanni and some Samedi, these scholarly Cainites strive to unlock the mysteries of death, to understand why death occurs and how vampires cheat the natural cycle. Though they are neither murderers nor cavalier about death, they do occasionally "assist" if death seems to be unnaturally delayed.
