Letter from Souris de Sang to Adam Jones; October 29, 2007

Regent Jones,

I thank you for your introduction to the city. I found your speech inspiring, and hope to do what I can to help House and Clan Tremere in New York. Enclosed are notes I have taken from my interactions at last Elysium. I keep records, and thought you might like copies of them as well. I would appreciate it if, should you use these records, I were not cited as their source.

Notes from 10/26/2007

Claims to have arrived in New York very recently, after being chased out of Los Angelos by Cathayans. Previously resided in New York City in the 1960s. Has been moving from city to city since he caused the sinking of the Lucitania in World War I (or so he claims). Alleges that allies of his sire insured the Lucitania, and they are chasing after him. Assuming this is true, he is probably resented by his sire.

Irrational fear of Jews. Claims that they are after him and that they are everywhere. No active derangement perceived upon aura examination, only an intense fearful mood.

Plans subway systems and highways. Claims to have transportation connections, and has offered to render transportation-related favors if appropriately compensated.

Thinks Adam Jones is a Jew. Knows Adam Jones is the Tremere Regent of New York.

Friendly towards Souris de Sang. Knows she can obtain blood, knows she is Camarilla. Does not know she is Tremere. Has her phone number.

Notes from 10/26/2007

"Reformed" Sabbat Malkavian, now independent. Believes that some members of the Camarilla want to kill her.

Trusts Auberon Xerices.

Imbibed sempreverde, causing widespread madness amongst Malkavians across the region, possibly nation.

[In margin: Regent Jones-- I'm not totally familiar with what happened in that incident. Where might I learn about it?]

Letter from Adam Jones to Souris de Sang; October 30, 2007

Souris,

Thank you very much for the notes. I am pleased to see you understand the importance of keeping records and taking notes. It is upon such small steps that many of my accomplishments were achieved.

I will, of course, note you as the source of any information you present to me. Failure to maintain proper records of where information comes from can result in distortions in how information is evaluated and used. Naturally, these notes will not be widely shared. Only members of House Tremere who reside in or oversee New York City have access to the full notes. Non-Tremere will only ever see edited versions of these notes. These edited version lack information that could reveal sensitive details such as how intelligence was gathered, as well as any information that might be disturbing in its thoroughness (for example, precise information regarding the relative strength of the blood of the individuals in question). Even these edited notes are rarely shared outside of House Tremere, and when they are shared are only given to our allies. You do not need to concern yourself with unearned embarrassment regarding your role in intelligence gathering.

Secondly, I previously prepared an extensive collection of notes on Kindred resident in the domain. These notes are now unfortunately dated, but should prove illuminating nonetheless. Please contact Magus McCoy or Magus Xerices so that you may obtain a copy. If they are unable to provide you with one, please contact one of my ghouls.

You had best refer to Magus Xerices and Magus McCoy for information regarding the incident involving the Malkavians. Please keep an eye on Julienne. I have a sneaking suspicion that she will attempt something rash in the future.

Finally, please do not broadcast the fact that I am Regent of House Tremere. It is not a secret, but I do prefer to be able to interact with people without having that little tidbit hanging over my head. If is much easier to convince people that you are their friend when they do not know you have quite so many resources at your disposal. As you did not previously know of my feelings on this subject, I shall not hold it against you.

I look forward to receiving additional intelligence information from you in the future.

Sincerely,
Adam Jones
Regent of the First Circle of Mysteries

Regent Jones,

Please forgive my lapse in communication. I've written some notes on the last two gatherings, but with research getting intense I haven't had a chance to deliver them before now. I hope you find them useful.

Robert (Last name unknown)

Clan: Presume Malkavian
Sect: Presume Independent, unconfirmed. Interacts mostly with independents, did not attend court. Tolerated by the Camarilla.

Notable observations:

High mental abilities, aura was difficult to read. Severely deranged, derangement active when gambling. Apparent addiction to gambling, derangement could possibly be a compusion of sorts. Heightened emotions when taking risks. Tries to wager on anything.

Moderate-high social abilities. Extremely charismatic. Attracts others to gamble with him and interact with him. Becomes somewhat frustrated when he cannot compell someone to gamble with him. Has the potential to lead a social faction or clique of sorts. It is worth maintaining some amount of contact with him due to his ability to lead others. He has seemed to take it upon himself to "loosen" Souris de Sang. He sees it as a personal challenge, and I believe this can be used to manipulate him to a small degree.

Interacts a lot with Jay Winslow. The two were seen together, ostensibly intoxicated, likely with sempreverde.

Willie Boyd

Clan: Caitiff
Sect: Independent or Anarch
Not Tolerated by the Camarilla as far as I know.
Phone number: 327-555-2317

Notable observations:

At least moderately affluent. Lost approximately $2000 gambling and did not appear bothered or out of funds.

Nomadic. Claims to move between cities a lot. Originally from Tennessee.

High social abilities. Charismatic and charming. Garners much attention from the opposite sex.

Admitted to being Clanless after a wager was made on guessing his Clan. As per my academic interest in the Caitiff, I shall be following up with Mr. Boyd. More detailed reports will follow.

*****

Dylan (Lisa)

Clan: Malkavian
Sect: Independent
Tolerated by the Camarilla

(See the original dossier on Dylan for background information)

Dylan has been obfuscated constantly to appear as an individual she calls Lisa. Lisa is a dominatrix by trade, though does not have a commanding demeanor.

She is often bothered by wraiths who follow her and terrorize her (throwing things, speaking to her, etc). Has been receiving help with this from Edda Ghiberti.

Upon reading her aura, Souris de Sang and Reino Haldor both discovered that she has committed Diablerie in the past three months. The Prince was informed, and she plans to approach Dylan/Lisa about it, hoping only to use destruction as a last resort. Follow-up with this will primarily take place with Primogen Haldor and Sheriff Petrov.

Apprentice de Sang,

I am once again pleased to receive copies of your notes. It is good to see that you understand the importance of carefully studying those around you.

Please keep me informed of what you find out about Dylan. My prior impressions of her suggested that while whe was unstable, she was not much of a threat. I am quite curious about the circumstance surrounding her recent diablerie.

I am also interested in hearing your observations on the Ventrue and Toreador Primogen.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require assistance.

Sincerely,
Adam Jones

Regent Jones,

I hope this letter finds you well. Enclosed are my notes from the previous Elysium. I am completely at your disposal if there is anything I can do for House and Clan Tremere.

Notes from December 7th, 2007

The Toreador Primogenship

With Marco de Valle rising to the position of Harpy most likely at the next meeting of the Primogen council, the seat of Toreador Primogen is open. The members of clan Toreador met on this issue last Elysium, but I know nothing of the result of that meeting. I have conjectures, however. The current members of clan Toreador who regularly attend Elysium are:

Marco de Valle
Whit Brokehouse
Anastasia Rothe
Maria Fletcher
Elaine Morris

Mr. de Valle is not a candidate, for he is leaving the Primogenship for higher office. Whit Brokehouse is the longest-standing Toreador in the city, however her gruff manner and blatant scorn for authority figures and for others makes her an unlikely choice. Neither Ms. Fletcher nor Ms. Morris show the assertiveness or interest necessary for the Primogenship. In addition, Ms. Fletcher is Ms. Rothe's childe, and Ms. Rothe would never allow her to hold a higher position, based on the behavior I have seen between the two of them.

This leaves Ms. Rothe. By what I've seen of her behavior, I fully expect that she will make every move possible to strong arm her way into the Primogenship. However, she is not in good standing with other members of her clan. She is domineering and narcissistic, causing the resentment of her childe (this was confirmed by the use of Aura Perception). Ms. Morris is also a quiet, unassertive personality, and appears to sympathize with Ms. Fletcher. Ms. Brokehouse seems to resent all or most of her clanmates. I am unaware of Mr. de Valle's stance on Ms. Rothe's potential ascension to the Primogen council, but from the tendency of the clan to favor Mr. de Valle over Ms. Rothe, it is hard to imagine that he wholeheartedly endorses her. This, however, is speculative on my part.

Should Ms. Rothe assume the Primogenship, Clan Toreador will remain in relative disarray. She does not have the support of her Clanmates, nor does she appear to value it. As such, clan Toreador will be much more a collection of individuals than a formidable political faction.

The ascension of Mr. Wright to the position of Seneschal

Mr. Eugene "Brody" Wright has ascended to the position of Seneschal with what appears to be great support of the NY Camarilla. He has great popularity with the neonate "clique" which includes Elaine Morris (Toreador), Maria Fletcher (Toreador), Anastasia Rothe (Toreador), Cassie [surname] (Ventrue), Elizabeth Whitcomb (Brujah), and Zack [surname] (Unknown).

Magus Haldor knows Seneschal Wright better than I, and I refer you to him for information on the position of the officers on his ascension.

****

Matthias Stone

A Matthias Stone spent last Elysium socializing (also socialized at the club Sebau), as well as talking to the Prince. He is "the assistant to the ambassador to the kingdom of the Thrice-Plowed Court," the Cathayans of New Jersey.

He is a dealer in drugs and sexual indulgences, and invited many to a party for such pursuits. He favors attractive people over unattractive ones, and females over males. He admits that he is a Toreador embraced into the Sabbat, but left the Sabbat after his local group was destroyed. He is attractive enough to hold sway over the other Toreador.

I witnessed him offering sempreverde to Jay Winslow, at which point, I informed him that Mr. Winslow is a Malkavian and would do best not to imbibe sempreverde, at which point he whispered "Later" to Mr. Winslow. He needs to be monitored closely to prevent another disaster among the Malkavians.

****

Jay Winslow

I spent time talking to Jay Winslow about dreams he had had recently. I can send you the specific notes if you would like them. I have established a rapport with Mr. Winslow under which I believe he will share some or all of his dreams. After speaking to him at length, I have a good idea of his personality. I get the sense that he is somewhat of a critic at heart, though I do not yet fully understand his psychological operations.

****

Anastasia Rothe and Maria Fletcher

This relationship is a fascinating one. I want to observe more, but Ms. Rothe has thus far appeared to be an archetypal narcissist. She assumes that she is loved and admired by others, and feels entitled to power and trust. She domineers others, but most severely her childe Maria Fletcher. Ms. Fletcher is incredibly oppressed by Ms. Rothe, and I intend to extend a subtle amount of sympathy to Ms. Fletcher such that she is empowered and feels that I am her ally. Some sort of upset between these two is inevitable. I must do my best not to appear biased in the eyes of Ms. Rothe, for I would like to remain in good standing with all the primogen, however by befriending Ms. Fletcher, one, to a small degree, befriends most of the neonate "clique" (Morris, Elizabeth, Cassie, etc.)

Apprentice de Sang,

If you have not already done so, I suggest you bring your analysis of the Toreador situation to the attention of Magus Haldor. From your comments and my own observations it is clear that clan Toreador as a political entity is nearing a cusp. We have a great many options at this juncture. I believe that you and Magus Haldor are in a better position to analyze our them than I am.

Sincerely,
Adam Jones
