PERSONAL ACTION:

Piscina is checking up on all her kids. Sophie, Hector, Jave, and Lydia in particular.

Influence Response:

Sophie has a gleam in her eye when she tells you about what's been happening. Apparently Helga taught her a few tricks that came in handy while you were gone when some local boys tried to become too friendly. Judging from her look, you can be pretty sure that whatever happened to the boys means that they won't be going near her again, and maybe also girls in general... She looks to be pretty grey about the gills however, and despite the gleam, you can tell that she doesn't seem to have the energy that she typically has around you.

Hector is very happy to see that you've returned. He wasn't too sure that you actually would; he had a secret fear that the authorities wouldn't let you back in the country, because, you know, like him, you're not actually from America. He complains a bit about the gringos and how they seem to look down on him. What do those goody-two-shoe government workers know? It doesn't matter that he can't read or write too good or work the numbers, he's doing pretty well as he is now with his cons.

Javê and Lydia are pretty quiet around you. You can tell that both are pleased to see you back, but neither one wants to show it much. There seems to be an awkwardness between the two of them, but when the topic comes up, they shy away from it. Instead, they ask if there are any new tricks that you picked up from Europe.

PERSONAL ACTION:

Pisces is concerned about how Sophie looks “green around the gills” and is going to try to convince her to have a checkup. Pisces is going to make sure Sophie gets a female doctor or nurse.

Influence Response:

Sophie is more than a little leery about getting herself to a doctor, even if you can arrange to have her get a female practitioner. She's a murderer, a runaway and an ex-hooker, and "the system" makes her more than a little bit leery, or so she claims. Still, she agrees to go for a quick routine checkup, paid in cash - just so long as it's a woman and just so long as they aren't sticking her full of needles or asking for ID or her life history or something.

After it's over, she tells you that it turns out she's fine. It's just a cold and PMS and a bad week snow-balling together. They gave her some free Tylenol.

You naturally aren't sure whether or not you should believe her report of the situation. You consider asking Helga, but she claims to be just as in the dark as you are.
